Texas Kayak Guide is led by Marshall Hosea. Marshall is an ACA certified kayak instructor and day trip leader and TPWD licensed kayak guide in both fresh- and saltwater. He is an active member in the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) and Trout Unlimited (TU) and actively participates in and promotes conservation and membership activities with both groups such as coastal clean up days, fish releases and grass roots efforts. With over 30 years of experience on the water as both an angler and nature enthusiast, Marshall shares his knowledge of - and excitement for - all things water-related with his customers.
Marshall's love of the water goes back as far as he can remember. Some of his first memories are of fishing and learning about the water with his father and grandfather. Shore and wade fishing his early experiences; as he grew, he started experimenting with canoes to enhance his fishing activities. Pontoon boats offered Marshall and his family the opportunity to enjoy fishing and nature together. Bass boats and bass tournaments enabled him to further his expertise, placing in many. As time passed, however, Marshall's concern for the environment took precedence and he returned to smaller water craft - not only in an effort to curb his affect on nature, but also to have a more personal experience with nature and his first love - the water.
Marshall has found that kayaks offer the operator that up-close experience with nature and the environment in a way that no other watercraft he has used can. You find yourself a natural part of what you are experiencing because kayaks are so unintrusive. Fish, birds and animals all accept you as part of their world - you find yourself simply gliding into something that you have always wanted to experience but couldn't figure out how to do so. And, quite simply, there is no better way to spot fish than to be as close to them as possible.
Marshall has experience with fish of all varieties. He has fished Big Sam, Lake Livingston, Lake Conroe, Lake Houston, Trinity River, San Jacinto River, Lake Caddo, Inks Lake, Galveston Bay, Clear Lake, Port O'Connor...the list goes on and on. He has caught redfish, flounder, sand trout, speckled trout, crappie, catfish, bass - you name it, he has caught it! He will share his knowledge of fishing with you on water he is familiar with or on your favorite fishing hole - he will put you on fish wherever there are fish to be found!
Texas Kayak Guide is committed to delivering you the best kayak experience - one that you will remember fondly and share with your family and friends.
